VAPOUR CHAMBER

Detail 1

Design

Vapour chambers have the capability to accept higher heat fluxes than a traditional aluminium or copper surface. Its thin structure makes it ideal for applications where space is limited. Vapour chambers have the ability to operate in any orientation. They have passed testing for thermal cycling (freeze/thaw) and shock and vibration.

Technology

A vapour chamber is a planar heat pipe that forms the base of a heat sink.

Vapour chambers deliver higher thermal performance than a traditional heat sink by minimising spreading resistance found in aluminium or copper bases. Vapour chambers deliver superior two-dimensional heat conduction, enabling greater heat sink efficiency and component reliability.
